With StarLadder Berlin Major 2019 just days away from coming to an end, teams and organizations have started the hunt for new players, as a big shuffle season looms on the global Counter-Strike circuit.

In a race between teams to get their hands on the best and prepare a roster strong and experienced enough to handle the upcoming Counter-Strike season, G2 Esports' CEO - Carlos ‘ocelote’ Rodriguez Santiagos has been called out by Antonio Meic - CEO of CR4ZY for attempting to poach his player behind his back.

While Meic said out loud that this was unprofessional and that he expected better from ocelote, Scott ‘SirScoots’ Smith, who is an advisor for Counter-Strike Professional Players Association (CSPPA), says that there is nothing wrong in an interested party directly approaching a player before discussing the matter with the owner.

Meic also went ahead to state that just 30 minutes after he had left G2 Esports office, ocelote went behind his back to get in touch with one of his players. But SirScoots stood with his statement saying how the players never get to hear about multiple offers that come their way, just because of the owner turning them down.

Though G2 has been caught up in a similar situation before in the LEC, the users who have replied to Meic’s tweet seem to be favouring what SirScoot’s had to say, because Counter-Strike in itself does not have any strict rules or regulations on poaching of players, unlike some other esports titles like LEC and LCS.

G2 Esports and Ocelote have still not made any statement regarding the issue from their side yet.
