One day after Fredrik ‘freddieb’ Buo announced his departure from the Swedish organization, Team Ancient, the whole team has split-up and have decided to go their own ways. This marks the end of the AncientV2 project as stated by the team's coach, Andre ‘BARBARR’ Moller.

Via a TwitLonger post, BARBARR points out the following,

The project started to crumble with the departure of Nicolas ‘Plopski’ Gonzalez Zamora to NiP back in June 2019. Just when Ancient were at an all-time high standing second at DreamHack Open Summer 2019 and then following it up by reaching the Europe Minor Championship: Berlin Major 2019 all the way through the open qualifiers, the transfer took place.

Ancient had a hard time getting Denis ‘grux’ Gutaj to play in a suitable position and with the adjustments still not complete the Minor Championship dawned upon them. They could not make it through the group stage and the team started to fall apart.

As Joakim ‘Disco doplan’ Gidetun and William ‘draken’ Sundin had played with freddieb for a long time together, they also decided to leave and try something different.

With this, the whole team disbanded and the project came to an end. He himself is now a free agent and is looking for new opportunities.

The last roster to have played under the banner of Team Ancient was,

  • William ‘draken’ Sundin

  • Joakim ‘disco doplan’ Gidetun

  • Fredrik ‘freddieb’ Buo

  • Alfred ‘RuStY’ Karlsson

  • Andreas ‘MODDII’ Fridh [Trial]

  • Andre ‘BARBARR’ Moller [Coach]
