ZOWIE announces CS:GO event for women in Asia

After hosting the world’s largest women-only PUBG tournament last year in Shanghai, ZOWIE is back with two more events. Under its DIVINA initiative, they have announced the ZOWIE DIVINA Women’s Asia CS:GO Championship 2019 along with the ZOWIE DIVINA Women’s PUBG Thailand Championship 2019.

The CS:GO event which will be taking place in Shanghai from 20th-23rd June will also serve as the Asian Qualifier for the DreamHack Showdown, with the top two teams qualifying for the $100,000 event taking place in Valencia, Spain from 5th-7th July as part of DreamHack Valencia.

The Women's Asia CS:GO Championship will witness participation from a total of eight teams, out of which four teams will be direct invites while the other four will make their way through the Open Qualifiers. Out of the four qualifier slots, two are reserved for Chinese teams while the other two are for teams from the rest of Asia.

The cost of flights, accommodations and meals will be borne by the organizers for all the 8 participating teams.

Open Qualifier Details

Both ‘China’ and the ‘Rest of Asia’ Online Qualifiers will be taking place on 1st-2nd June. The Chinese qualifiers will be held on 5E Play while the Rest of Asia qualifiers takes place on SoStronk. Top two teams from each qualifier will move on to compete at the main event in Shanghai.

The registration is currently ongoing and will continue till 31st May. A maximum of 64 teams can enroll for the qualifier which will be done on a first come first serve basis. The qualifier will start at 15:00 (GMT +8) on 1st June.
