The World Electronic Sports Games (WESG) is one of the biggest esports events in the world which attracted 68,000 players from more than 126 countries and regions with its whopping prize pool of 5.5 Million Dollars. It's format is a rather unique affair because only national teams are allowed to participate in the event. The registrations for the ‘ASEAN Qualifiers’ for next season’s WESG tournament has been opened up.

The competition will feature national teams from 10 different South East Asian countries (Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, Brunei Darussalam, Vietnam, and Indonesia) in four separate games: DOTA2, Starcraft II, CounterStrike: Global Offensive, Hearthstone, and VainGlory.

  • Registrations will be open up until 31st July 2018.

  • Online qualifiers, followed by National finals for each of the above 10 countries is expected to take place from 1st August 2018 to 30th September 2018.

Details of the qualifiers of other regions are yet to be announced, but rest assured, WESG and Alisports have promised that “Players from 206 nations and regions will be able to compete against each other and 25 offline tournaments overseas will take place.”
