After a disappointing loss against Team Secret in the Winner Bracket Finals yesterday, Virtus Pro recovered and managed to secure a rematch against them after a clinical 2-0 dismantling of Evil Geniuses in the Lower Bracket Finals.

Here’s a brief recap of how Virtus.Pro got themselves to the Grand Finals.

Virtus.Pro vs Evil Geniuses

The first match was a very competitive brawl that lasted 50 minutes. Both teams were close in every category and the fights had fans on the edge of their seats the entire time. Once again, it was Arteezy vs the World on his Terrorblade as the rest of Evil Geniuses just completely fell off. With both Ramzes and No[o]ne completely snowballing on their Spectre and Invoker, there was little EG could do other than watch the CIS juggernauts take the throne and go 1-0 up in the series.

Game 2 was completely out of Evil Geniuses hands right from the get-go. VP had 40 kills and controlled the tempo from the start. EG was essentially stationary as their opponents ran circles around them. Forty minutes after it began, Evil Geniuses were headed home with a third-place finish. VP, on the other hand, were knocking on the door of the grand finals and a rematch with Team Secret—the team that sent them into the lower bracket in the first place.
