Valve recently announced via Twitter that they will be handing out permanent matchmaking bans to players ound abusing cheats. This comes after repeated calls from the community to take action against players who abuse the system by using scripts and hacks to gain an unfair advantage.
Today we issued a wave of permanent matchmaking bans to players who were found to be abusing cheats (e.g. auto-hex scripting). There will be subsequent ban waves in the coming weeks. We do not support or condone the use of any third-party modifications during matchmade games.

As mentioned in the tweet, while the bans haven’t started rolling out immediately, they will take place over the course of the next few weeks in waves.
