The Africa Open Qualifiers for the Berlin Major 2019 came to an end yesterday with four teams qualifying through the second qualifier and moving on to join the four teams who had already qualified via the first one.
The African scene used to be quite sober till about last year but since the collapse of Bravado Gaming followed by Energy Gaming also undergoing a rough patch the scene has seen a drastic change with the experienced players being scattered all over the region, now playing for different organizations.
This is one of the reasons that there were no Direct Invites for the Closed Qualifier from the region. The closed qualifier consists of 8 teams qualifying through the two open qualifiers.
The African teams that made it through the first open qualifier are as follows,
-
Energy Esports
-
Sinister5
-
Goliath Gaming
-
Big 5 Esports
While the ones coming through the second open qualifier are,
-
ViNCO Gaming
-
Exdee Gaming
-
