The Indian representatives at the IeSF World Championship 2018, Team Invictus had a rough start earlier in the day, losing to TNC and having to play a decider against Team Virus, who also lost their opening bout to the likes of TNC.

With two teams qualifying on to the Playoffs from every group, it was down to a decider between Invictus and Virus. The winner of the match would take the second place on the points table and make it through to the Playoffs while the other team’s journey would come to an end.

The Decider

Invictus and Virus fought it out on Mirage where Virus came in hot, determined and confident playing CT-sided. They took on the challenge to cause an upset and did shake up the Indian side quite well, who in their defence managed to come back into the game quite well but were still facing a marginal deficit, with the score reading ‘9-6’ in Virus’s favour.

The second half is where Invictus took flight and not only did they come back into the game but they also shut down Virus hard, by countering every one of their setups perfectly. Virus did try some changes and it did get them a few rounds but all they were doing was try, whereas Invictus was going in for the win and they achieved it in the 30th round, winning the match with a score of ‘16-14’.

With the following win, Team Invictus make their way into the Playoffs while it is the end of Team Virus’s journey in the IeSF World Championship 2018.
