Fnatic is currently in a dire state with 0 qualifier points despite attending 1 major and 1 minor, and at this point, they're trying everything they can to turn things around. Earlier, it was announced that Adam would be leaving Fire Dragoon to join Fnatic. Now Fnatic have confirmed that Adam would indeed be joining their team in a coaching capacity. They also announced their acquisition of Abed.
This also has caused their midlaner Steve 'Xcalibur' Ye to move to a substitute role. He said in a statement
“Despite my short stay in Fnatic’s active roster my experience in the team has been invaluable. I have learned so much from my teammates during our replay sessions. I will definitely try to find a new team to play with again and I want to thank everyone in Fnatic for the experience.”
This can develop to be quite an interesting storyline since it was rumored that Abed was the first choice mid for Fnatic for this season, and was approached by EternalEnvy to sign for his team. But Abed chose to stay in Digital Chaos which lead to Fnatic picking up Xcalibur.
Thus the final Fnatic roster is:
1. Jacky 'EternaLEnVy' Mao
2. Abed 'Abed' Yusop
3. Chong Xin 'Ohaiyo' Khoo
4. Djardel 'DJ' Mampusti
5. Johan 'PieLieDie' Åström
Substitute: Steve 'Xcalibur' Ye
Coach: Adam ‘343' Shah
Their first match is in under 2 hours against Entity Gaming in the Summit 8 SEA Qualifiers.
