Team Signify, will continue without offlane player AJ ‘xRag’ Casanada and Support Joshua "Owa" Dela Serna. The team will be retaining Balaji "BlizzarDD" Ramnarayan, Moin ‘No_Chanc3’ Ejaz, and Raunak ‘Crowley’ Sen heading into the upcoming tournament season.
xRag was recently spotted playing for the Philippine team, Happy Feet in the ROG DreamLeague Season 8 – SEA qualifiers ending his successful run with Signify. We are unclear on Owa’s future plans; he has presumably returned to his home country.
They are bringing in, two of India’s foremost in Dhvanit ‘Negi’ Negi and Omkar ‘Pasoll’ Urunkar to replace the foreign stars. Negi will be playing in the offlane role while Pasoll will take over the support role.
Negi is a relatively new player in the Indian scene who became one of its best carry players while playing with Aggressive 5, performing immensely well and played a crucial part in them winning the ‘Dew Arena 2.0’. it will be interesting to see if he could display the same form in the offlane role. He says,
“I am thrilled to join Signify with PasoLL with whom I have played with great success in the past. Together in Team Signify we aim to reach greater heights in the SEA Dota 2 circuit”
Pasoll, on the other hand, is a familiar fixture to fans of Indian Dota. He is a veteran who has had several successes in the past. His most recent victory came at the Dew Arena 2.0 where he was a large part of Aggressive 5’s campaign, displaying a fairly wide hero pool and a good level of mechanical skill as the 5 position support. He says,
“I have had the pleasure of playing with Team Signify before and it’s beyond doubt that they are a great team to play with. It’s an excellent opportunity for me and I hope to make the most of it.”
Signify has already found an astonishing amount of success with the current iteration of their roster, they’ve managed to qualify for the Galaxy Battles II: Emerging Worlds – SEA Qualifiers by winning the Indian Qualifier. Perhaps more impressively, they beat ROG Masters – APAC Qualifiers Champions WG.Unity 2-0 and tied Entity Gaming 1-1 in the JoinDota League – Season 10 – Asia.
Signify are now set to participate in the ESL India – Winter Phase, Acer Predator League and WESG 2017 with this new roster. This also marks the first time that Signify will be playing with an ‘All-Indian’ roster.
