Dota 2 fans with fat wallets and plenty of love for the game were eagerly waiting for well over a year for the arrival of the Roshan statuette. Demonstrated as fierce and dynamic, it was a prize offered to those who reached level 2,000 in last year’s Battle Pass for The International 7.

Unfortunately, when it did arrive, it looked like something you'd get from a McDonald's happy meal than a level 2,000 reward.

For reference, here’s what Valve promised:

Here’s what fans received:

This resulted in a public outrage in /r/dota2, with many fans stating it has deterred them from spending as much to level up their Battle Pass this year.

In response, Valve sent out a brief blog post about the situation, promising new statuettes for everyone who received one last year:

It has come to our attention that the physical Baby Roshan reward for last year’s Battle Pass has had poor production quality yields. We apologize to our fans for that, it is well below the quality we expected. We are going to start from scratch on new production for the statue, and prioritize delivering it as soon as possible to every customer that reached level 2000 last year.

Well, there’s nothing fans can do except wait. There's some good news as well: everyone who got Bad Roshan gets to keep their janky figure – For the memes.
