The Teams
PENTA Sports:

The rising German teams has been putting in some solid performances in the European Qualifiers of the Majors/Minors, consistently finishing in the top 3 positions. Quite an impressive achievement considering that EU has been perceived to be the strongest region currently with teams like Team Secret, Team Liquid and OG in the fray.
This will be their biggest stage to shine and announce themselves as a force to be reckoned with.
Team MAX:

Team MAX qualified for the Grand Finals, quite frankly, by a stroke of luck. Team CDEC who won the ROG Masters 2017: China Qualifiers underwent way too many roster changes which left just 1 player on the original roster thereby getting disqualified from the main event.
But this team packs quite a punch, opponents should be wary of Lai "Fonte"' Xingyu’s Spectre which has carried the team through several tournaments.
Optic Gaming

Arguably the strongest team participating in this tournament, after their scintillating performances in the NA region will be disappointed with anything but 1st place. If they bring their A-Game to Kula Lumpur, Malaysia it is hard to see them losing any game till the playoffs.
Even then, it will take something special to knockout this team.
Team Empire

Team Empire after failing at Adrenaline Cyber League and World Cyber Arena 2017 Europe Finals will want to prove that they are still one of the premier teams in the World of Dota. This line up is sick with so much talent and experience.
They are one of the most exciting teams to watch in this event. Can they deliver on the big stage?
Execration

Execration have been slowly but surely declining since TI7, going from being one of the best team in the SEA region to being a good top 4 team, that could on a good day win a regional qualifier, to barely being a top 6 team in the SEA Regiona, as they seemed to not be able to adapt to the likes of Fnatic, TNC Pro Team and Mineski.
They need to step it up in this event or risk becoming obscure.
WG.Unity

WG.Unity has been on fire lately. Using their victory at the ROG Masters 2017: APAC Finals as fuel they have become one of the best teams around the SEA scene. Their meteoric rise in performances has been a result of two major things: Feras "Feero" Hroob’s breakthrough as a god-tier Midlaner, perhaps the best in the SEA servers bar Abed, and the pick up of Mohammad "AfrOmoush" Abu Al Eis.
The two Jordanians have pushed the team to a new level and on their day, can single-handedly destroy the playing field.
