A year after it’s unveiling at The International, OpenAI which beat several pro gamers including SumaiL, Arteezy and Dendi will be showcased once again in a special show match would be held between OpenAI and a team lead by Ben "Merlini" Wu on Monday this weekend, Aug. 6.
In the battle for supremacy, the humans will be represented by William "Blitz" Lee, Austin "Capitalist" Walsh, Ben "Merlini" Wu, Ioannis "Fogged" Loucas, and the latest addition to the team: David "MoonMeander" Tan.
The OpenAI team, working off neural networks, average 150-170 actions per minute, ‘train’ for approximately 180 years a day at an accelerated rate, and naturally possess a much quicker reaction time than humans. However, the OpenAI Five don’t communicate with each other but are merely aware of their teammates' current states and actions – something that could be exploited by the human team.
