Team Liquid cemented their place as a top 4 Dota team in the world with a dominating performance at the MegaFon Winter Clash yesterday. The tournament featured 4 of the world’s best teams with Liquid, Secret, VP and PSG.LGD all in contention. It was also one of the last big LANs in 2018, although not part of the DPC, featuring a prize pool of 300,000$.

Liquid go unbeaten in the tournament and PSG.LGD eliminate both VP and Secret

The team didn’t drop a single game, much a series right from start to finish, going 4-0 in the group and then beating Na’Vi twice in the playoffs to lift the trophy. PSG.LGD will also hold the tournament in high value as they were able to eliminate both VP and Secret from the competition but ultimately fell to Na’Vi in the lower bracket finals.

It was also a huge morale booster for Na’Vi, who after placing 2nd at the Dreamleague Season 10 Minor, failed to qualify to a DPC event in the second set of events. However, at Moscow, the team beat VP in the group stages and took down PSG.LGD 2-0 in the playoffs finishing second.

Liquid are now 150,000$ richer

Team Liquid gave themselves an early Christmas gift with a win at Moscow, going home richer by a 150,000$. They came into the grand finale with one game advantage and took just under an hour to beat Na’Vi in another 2 games of Dota, with the end result reading 3-0. Miracle’s performance throughout the tournament was also equally impressive as the carry player finished the tournament with 94 kills and just 6 deaths. His performance on Meepo in the final game, as he slaughtered Na’Vi through and through, is a great reminder of just why he is one of the best and most versatile players in the world.
