Another season of WCA finished this week in Yinchuan, China, with Invictus Gaming being crowned as the victors and walking home with ~$50,000 in prize money.

While this edition of the WCA 2017 might not have had the best teams competing in it, thanks to its non-DPC status as well as the parallelly happening Epicenter XL Major, it is still quite a prestigious tournament with teams from all across the world competing in it.

This was their first title of the season for one of China’s legendary organizations, Invictus Gaming and a much-needed boost to their momentum heading into what would be the preparation time for TI8. While they were considered the favourites of the event, the team did face some formidable opponents who they beat quite easily with a flawless run which saw them win three BO3 matchups in a row against SEA team ‘Execration’, European team ‘Planet Dog’, and fellow countrymen ‘For The Dream’ to take home the trophy.

WCA 2017 Final Standings:

1. Invictus Gaming - $47,367 | ¥300,000
2. For The Dream - $15,789 | ¥ 100,000
3. Planet Dog - $7,895 | ¥ 50,000
