Indo-China collegiate tournament with 18 lakh prize pool announced

Ever tried to convince your parents to let you pursue a career in esports and been sent back to your room to study? Not to worry! Now you have a chance to do both.

Egamers India (EGA) along with World Cyber Arena, China is hosting a college level tournament with a massive prize pool of approximately 18 lakh INR.
 
Who can participate?
 
A total of 6 teams will be playing at the main event. 3 teams from India will be selected to participate for this. The tournament is exclusive to Indian and Chinese teams.
 
However the criteria put forward by the organizers is that only teams from IIT’s (Indian Institute of Technology) will be considered. All members of a team must be from the same IIT as well. There will national level qualifiers held to ensure only the top 3 teams move forward.
 
When are the qualifiers and the main event?
 
Tentatively the qualifiers for Indian teams will be held in the beginning of May. And the LAN finals in China will be around the end of May/beginning of June.
 
Registration
 
To register, send in your team details to support@indianleaguegaming.com. Last date for registration is 30th April ’17.
 
The prize money
 
Both stay and travel will be provided by WCA for the teams who do qualify. The finals will be a 3 day event with guaranteed prize money of around 45k INR for winning each game. The matches will be bo2 and the overall winner will be decided via a league format. To top this, the winning country gets a bonus national group prize of INR 7 lakh
 
Speaking with Lokesh Suji (Chief Gamer & Founder of EGA), he says that EGA wants to make esports accessible for all and this inter college championship is a step towards many more exciting things to come.
