GG.Bet Summer Asia: GOSU Finishes At The Very Top

The Grand Finals of the GG.Bet Summer Asia took place yesterday between GOSU and B.O.O.T-d[S]. The revenge match was set due to B.O.O.T-d[S] winning against CyberZen in the Lower Bracket Final

The following game was a BO3 with the winner being awarded a cash prize of $9,000 USD along with being crowned the champions for the 2018 season. 


Grand Finals 


Match-1 

The first match between the two teams was played on Inferno. GOSU started off really strong taking 8 off the opening 10 rounds and continued to build-up on the lead taking the next 6 rounds as well, finally finishing the half 9 rounds ahead of their opponents. 

B.O.O.T-d[S] won the second pistol round but broke down to an aggressive GOSU as they strung 3 rounds together to reach the map point. B.O.O.T-d[S] managed to hold them for a round after which GOSU took the victory ‘16-5’.

Match-2 

The second match observed the two take on each other on Train. This time around B.O.O.T-d[S] displayed a better performance by managing to take an early lead upon which they kept piling rounds, to end the first half at ‘9-6’.

The second half saw GOSU retaliate by taking 3 consecutive rounds to tie the scores but B.O.O.T-d[S] adapted quickly to take the lead again, winning the next 4 rounds. GOSU once again tied the scores with some phenomenal plays, taking 4 rounds one after the other. The last four rounds were split even to take the match into overtime. 

Overtime saw B.O.O.T-d[S] take the first round while GOSU took the second but with some beautiful trigger control on display, B.O.O.T-d[S] took a hattrick while also winning the match ‘19-16’

Match-3 

The decider was fought on Mirage. This was a repeat of the first match as GOSU totally dominated their opponents, breaking them down by halftime as they gained a huge lead with a score of ‘11-4’. 

GOSU continued on its path, winning the second pistol round but were finally stopped by B.O.O.T-d[S] who took a quick triple to build some momentum of their own. GOSU taking the risk went aggressive and broke the streak from gaining on them. They ran the same play again but B.O.O.T-d[S] responded effectively this time but it did not turn out to be enough as GOSU won the next 3 rounds to take the match with a score of ‘16-8’.

Finishing the BO3 series ‘2-1’, GOSU won the GG.Bet Summer Asia while claiming the title of being the champion of the 2018 season along with a cash prize of $9,000.
