Galaxy Battles 2017 - USD 150,000 Chinese Dota 2 Tournament

The National Electronic Sports Open (NESO) brings you their 4th title - the Galaxy Battles 2017 Shen Zhen Dota2 Tournament.

The tournament will feature 4 directly invited teams plus 4 regional qualifier winners from across North America, Europe, China and South East Asia; all competing for a total prize pool of $150,000 at the Shen Zhen Bay Sports Stadium this June.

This tournament will also feature dedicated India Open Qualifiers thus guaranteeing that atleast one Indian Dota2 team will compete alongside seven other SEA teams at the regional qualifiers.

The tournament is supported by NESO, organized by NeoTV, Co-Organized by Purpose Win, Syber and Fallout Gaming, sponsored by ZENO with JUUCO as official partners.

Format and Registrations


The tournament is divided into three primary phases - Open Qualifiers, Regional Qualifiers and the Main Event.
 
Galaxy Battles 2017 Tournament Format
 


Open Qualifiers

 
Dates : 22nd to 26th May, 2017

Format : Single Elimination, Bo1. One team from each region will progress to the regional qualifiers to join the invited teams. Winners of the India and SEA Open Qualifiers will progress to the SEA Regional Qualifier.

Regional Qualifier


Dates : 27th to 28th May

Format : Bo2 Round Robin, 1 Group.

Teams : 7 invited teams + 1 winner from the open qualifiers. The SEA Regional qualifier will have 6 invited teams + 1 SEA Open Qual Winner + 1 India Open Qual Winner.

Prizes : Travel and stay to the main event for the winners of the regional qualifiers to be sponsored.

 


Main Event

Dates : 14th to 18th June, 2017

Teams : 4 direct invites + 4 winners from Regional Qualifiers

Format : 
  • Group Stages (14th June) : Round Robin, BO2 placement matches.
  • Main Bracket (15th to 18th June) : Double Elimination BO3. Finals will be BO5. The first match will be played in the hotel itself on the 15th.
