TyLoo faced OpTic in the third round of the New Challengers Stage at FACEIT Major: London 2018 in a tie-breaker of sorts.

TyLoo after experiencing a hell of an opener against Gambit did drop to NiP yesterday, leading them to face off against OpTic, who have also dropped one against Liquid while winning the other against VP.

This is a crucial game for both the teams because although it won’t be leading to the loser getting eliminated, it will surely see them play in an eliminator tomorrow while the winner gets to play in the qualifier match.

A Drawn-Out Challenge

The two teams fought it out on Inferno in the BO1 match-up.

The pistol round was won by OpTic playing as CT. They continued on to win 4 more rounds after which TyLoo was finally able to put itself on the scoreboard. The moment was short-lived as OpTic took the next 4 rounds to attain a huge lead. Although TyLoo won 4 out of the 5 rounds left before halftime they still faced a deficit of ‘10-5’.

The second half of the game started with TyLoo winning the second pistol round. They dropped the next round but came back with a 7-round streak to take the lead from OpTic. The Danes won 4 out of the next 5 rounds reaching map point but TyLoo played a brilliant clutch to tie the scores at ‘15-15’

In a case similar to what took place earlier today between NiP & Astralis, the match went into overtime.

The first overtime witnessed OpTic take 3 in a row playing CT-side but after the switch, TyLoo also took 3 consecutive rounds to move onto the next overtime. Something very similar took place as TyLoo playing CT-sided took the initial 3 rounds followed by OpTic tying the scores by winning 3 themselves.

Nothing changed in the third overtime as well, with both the teams winning 1 round each playing T-sided while taking the other 2 rounds as CT. The breakthrough was achieved in the fourth overtime where OpTic had already reached the map point and a sloppy play by TyLoo cost them the clutch round with OpTic finally winning the match by a score of ‘28-26’.

With this, Optic obtained its second victory while TyLoo faces an elimination match tomorrow.
