Here's how Day 2 of ESL One: Hamburg 2018 transpired.

Group A

After two days of matches in Group A at ESL One Hamburg 2018, two teams have taken a decent lead and are fighting now for the upper bracket seeds playoff, namely Vici Gaming and Team Secret, while Mineski and Alliance are one series away from elimination.

The second day of ESL One Hamburg 2018 kicked off with Vici Gaming taking on Team Secret. Team Secret experimented with surprising picks like a Bounty Hunter offlane and a position 5 Brewmaster. While the offlane Bounty Hunter flopped spectacularly, Puppey and Team Secret managed to make the support Brewmaster work and handed Vici Gaming their first loss of the tournament.

Secret later in the day beat Alliance 2:0 in two quick games, While Vici Gaming ended up dropping another game to EG’s Drow Ranger and Templar Assassin finishing the day with a 6-2 scoreline.

Mineski, on the other hand, are at tied on the last position with Alliance, as both of them secured a 1-1 tie and a 0-2 defeat today. Alliance managed to take a game from paiN and Mineski grabbed one from Evil Geniuses, but these results are not enough for either of them to secure a top-four finish. They both need a 2-0 victory on Day 3 to keep their hopes alive.

Group B

Group B sees Team Aster still remain undefeated with a stellar 8-0 record. Yesterday they swept the floor with compLexity and EVOS, securing the first place in Group B. They’re followed by Virtus.Pro with 6-2 record. Forward Gaming and NiP find themselves right smack in the middle of the Group with 4-4 and a 3-5 records respectively.

EVOS Esports, who was brought in as a last minute replacement in place of TNC Predator would find themselves as the first team eliminated from ESL One Hamburg 2018, having a 1-7 record at the end of day 2 after losses to both Aster and Forward Gaming.

That leaves Complexity with one series tomorrow which is a “must-win match” against ppd’s Ninjas in Pyjamas squad – anything less than a 2-0 victory would see them eliminated from the tournament.

The final series of the group stages heads our way on Day 3 where 3 more teams in total will be eliminated. Here’s the schedule:
