Merely days before ESL's first LAN event of the new season, ESL has already announced the next tournament for 2019: ESL One Katowice, scheduling the event for 19th-24th Feb 2019.

The Dota 2 tournament will feature 12 teams battling it out in the Spodek Arena for the lion’s share of a $300,000 prize pool, making it clear that the event will not be a DPC tournament but rather a standalone event.

The system for Katowice will be the same they'll use in Hamburg next week. While there will be twelve teams in total attending the event, there will be eight direct invitations. Only four teams can get a slot by winning one of the regional qualifiers. The qualifiers are all set to start in November.

To make the weekend even more exciting, ESL is bringing the fifth edition of the IEM Expo to the International Congress Centre in Katowice from February 22 to 24, and March 1 to 3. Attendees can enjoy 8,000 square meters full of esports, meets and greets, mini-tournaments, and more.

In the meanwhile, The next ESL One event scheduled to take place in Hamburg, set to begin Tuesday 24th October 2018. Groups for that tournament have already been drawn.
