The Winter Season of the ESL India Premiership 2018 is all set to kick off later today. But who are the teams competing? What’s the format? What’s at stake? Where is all this being broadcasted? To answer those questions and to get you up to speed on things, here’s a short survival guide.
As always, there’ll be 3 tiers in the Winter Season: The Master League, The Challenger League and The Starter Cup.
Master League: One long round-robin featuring 12 teams, where the Top 4 teams will qualify for the Winter LAN Finale while the bottom 4 will be relegated to the Challenger League.
Challenger League: 3 Phases will take place, with the Bottom 2 teams getting relegated to the starter division. The top 4 teams in the 3rd Phase of the Challenger League will be promoted to the Master League in the 2019 season.
Starter Cup: 3 Phases will take place, where the Top 2 teams get promoted to the Challenger League.
