The Dreamhack Masters Dallas 2019 came to an end with Team Liquid walking to the center stage and picking up the trophy. The NA squad overcame the threat of choking in the finals and went all the way through, taking down ENCE and clinching their second victory at a premium CS event.

Liquid Chokes No More

Going into the finals Liquid had to prove that they were not going back to their old ways of throwing everything away after successfully making it to the final game. Since their victory at IEM Sydney 2019 the team has been high on the hype train but doubts crept up once more when they went down to Vitality in the finals of cs_summit 4.

Once again reaching the very top here in Dallas, the fans were backing them up hard but critics were down right pointing out to how Liquid could lose it all if they didn’t get a good start. But Liquid seemed to have silenced everyone down with their performance tonight. This is how it all went down.

ENCE could not pick Train because of the ban placed on it by Liquid so they opted for Mirage, a map on which they have been absolute beasts while Liquid has straight out struggled to wrap their heads around.

But it was a total surprise to see Liquid play it today, they were able to give a tough fight playing T-sided. After which they had little to no pressure as they held down the sites with everything they had to offer, resulting in quite a comfortable victory for them.

With their confidence getting a good boost out of the victory, Liquid stepped in once again with an intention to seal the deal on Overpass but ENCE being themselves, played multiple times better just because of that pressure they had on them.

One of the few teams that under pressure bring out the best that they have to offer. Despite of facing a bit of a problem in the middle of the second half they recovered well to take the match into overtime and converted it into a victory, taking the game onto Inferno.

Despite Inferno being a map that Liquid is quite comfortable on and something very low on ENCE’s success list, they gave one hell of a knock, closing down a sizable gap at the end of the first half down to just a few rounds by the end of it all.

It was a great effort by ENCE but Liquid were simply too good today. The way EliGE has played in this event was unreal, especially yesterday against FURIA and today as well. The guy along with NAF felt alive here in Dallas and truly deserved the MVP award bestowed to him at the end of the event.

Liquid with their victories at both IEM Sydney 2019 & Dreamhack Dallas Master 2019 along with the fact that Astralis decided to skip such top tier events are now the best team in the world according to HLTV global rankings.

This is also their second victory in the race towards winning the second season of the Intel Grand Slam, placing them one victory ahead of Astralis with one extra chance in total to achieve the goal.
