It was quite a surprise to see some of the newer teams qualifying through, leaving behind some of the bigger names in the region like ShotCallers, Team RvN, Limitless.gg & IMMORTALS.
Though ShotCallers had made their way to the Finals of the first open qualifier they could not make it past the round-of-16 in their second attempt. Team RvN managed to reach the semifinals in both the qualifiers but failed to move ahead in both these occasion.
With this, the final eight teams for the MENA Closed Qualifier are ready to clash it out from 24th-26th May.

Coming to the East Asian Open Qualifiers it was again a surprise to see a few names missing from amongst the qualified teams.

Everyone knows how dominant MVP PK is in the East Asian region but apart from it, there is a lot of competition in between the remaining local teams. There are a few significant names that have consistently performed well, hence it was a surprise to see them not make it through.
2990 Esports faced Updraft twice, once each in both the qualifiers. But were unable to beat them on both the occasion. It was a close match-up between the two but 2990 were just not able to do it.
Reign In Gaming was also expected to be a part of the closed qualifier but they did not participate in the first qualifier and had the bad luck of facing 2990 in the semifinals of the second one.
With this, East Asia Closed Qualifier is all set to take place from 29th-31st May.
