The Philippine SEA Games Organizing Committee (PHISGOC) and Razer have just revealed that Dota 2 will be featured as a medal event in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games.
Five other games including Starcraft 2, Tekken 7, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, and Arena of Valor will also be played at the event. The 6th and final esports title is still being evaluated and will be revealed shortly.
The 2019 SEA Games will take place from 30th November 2019 to 11th December 2019, all across the Philippines including cities like Manila, Clark, Subic, Batangas, La Union, and Tagaytay.
Earlier this year, the 2018 Asian Games also featured esports, which included the likes of Arena of Valor, Clash Royale, Hearthstone, League of Legends, Pro Evolution Soccer, and StarCraft II as demonstration events. However, the esports events at the 2019 SEA Games will be set as medal events.
