CS:GO developers dropped a new update yesterday featuring a lot of changes being implemented to Vertigo along with the addition of Blasksite back to the Danger Zone.

Vertigo

Bombsite A underwent a lot of changes like,

  • Pushed back cover on site.

  • Tightened final ramp up to site.

  • The crane has been shifted slightly making the area around it accessible.

  • The wood fence has been shortened to give CT better control over the ramp.

  • The scaffolding towards the back of A was moved forward towards the wall.

  • Now a player can self boost onto the concrete formwork on A site.

Danger Zone

The old Danger Zone map, Blasksite, along with the new one, Sirocco are both available in official Danger Zone matchmaking as a time-based map rotation.

The RADAR jammers now block the drone pilots with static interference while it is active.

The drones fly at reduced speed whenever carrying a paradrop crate.

Selecting the Armour starting equipment now provides both the armour and helmet.

Authors Note

This is quite an important update in terms of competitive CS. Slowly the developers are finding out faults in the map and balancing it for a better competitive experience. The CT side will have a better time defending the A site with room for controlling the ramp while also playing more strategically around the site. The map hasn’t seen much action yet in top-tier events but will be seeing a lot of it in the coming events.

Danger Zone also keeps pushing out content consistently so that the mode always has something to offer and doesn’t get all too boring for the few that play it.
