The Regional Qualifiers for the Chongqing Major came to an end with the NA qualifiers and we now have our 15 teams for the Major. The 16th team will be decided via the Bucharest Minor.

J.Storm surprised everyone by taking the number 1 seed in the region as they took down EG 2-0 in the playoffs thanks to March’s Chen. Moo’s TB would further their cause in the winner’s match as they came back from a game down to beat FWD 2-1 and take the top seed.

Forward themselves found a relatively comfortable 2-0 over Envy and Fear’s stack, Plus Ultra and then took down EG 2-0 in the seeding match to emerge as seed #2 from NA. EG’s initial loss set them back, but they found two very one-sided wins over Plus Ultra in the lower bracket, which put them through to the Major.

12 out of the 15 teams in the Chongqing Major played in the KL Major as well, with CIS’s NoPangolier, EU’s Team Liquid and SA’s Thunder Predator being the only new entrants this time around. SEA, China and NA have all fielded the same teams as last time around.
