The biggest upset in this major. South America’s best team, Chaos Esports Club just knocked out one of the favourites for this tournament: Team Liquid to move on to the next round. With this loss, Team Liquid are knocked out of the Dreamleague: Season 11 Major with a last-place finish and just 75 DPC points.

After a slow start to the season Team Liquid finally looked like they were back to their best at MDL: Macau. They looked unstoppable as they claimed the trophy, but unfortunately for their fans, that hasn’t transitioned over to DPC tournaments.

Coming into today’s match against South American underdogs Chaos Esports, they were expected to beat their opponents with relative ease. Unfortunately, Team Liquid drafted/played far worse than they had in the previous days of the tournament.

Chaos Esports vs Team Liquid

Chaos Esports picked up aggressive lane dominating heroes with a Razor, Ursa and Omniknight as their cores. Team Liquid ended up losing all 3 lanes as Chaos picked up kill after kill to amass a massive net-worth advantage. Smart itemization allowed Chaos to keep up the pace and secured one racks after the other, as Miracle and co. struggled to pick up their key items. The ‘GG’ was called after Team Liquid were wiped under their Tier 4 towers.

With this loss Team Liquid’s run at Dreamleague: Season 11 comes to an end. Fans of Team Liquid must be worried, for the team has only amassed 525 DPC points in total after 3 Majors have concluded. They really need to step it up in the upcoming Disneyland Major and the 5th Major of the season, else they might end up missing out on a TI9 invite.
