The AMD Dota 2 Pro Series came to an end with Mineski being crowned the champions as they took the grand final 3-2 over Mr Game Boy. The team won 25,000 $ for their victory and have managed to win their first LAN since announcing their new roster. It was also one of the biggest Dota 2 events in Australia and despite the technical difficulties during the tournament, the overall reception was pretty spectacular. The noisy and energetic Aussie crowd made the event a treat to watch and coupled with fun segments involving Slacks, it truly was quite an entertaining event, especially considering the lack of tier 1 teams and relatively low prize pool.

Ferrari’s return to the pro scene quite a success

Another notable event at the event was the return of Ferrari_430, who played his first big LAN since 2015. The TI2 champion handled the mid lane for Mr Gameboy and helped his team to not only top the group stages, but win 2 bo3’s against TI8 champions, OG and secure a top 2 finish.

Mineski edge out Mr Game Boy in the grand finals

Mineski reached the grand finals without dropping a single game having knocked down both Deathbringer Gaming and Mr Gameboy to the lower bracket. The grand finale featured a rematch against MGB and the SEA team found themselves on the brink of defeat, going down 2-0 early into the series. However, stellar performances from JT in games 3 and 4 on the AM and the Morphling helped Mineski tie up the series at 2-2. In the final game of the series, MGB had little ways to deal with Nana’s Tinker who snowballed pretty quickly. While MGB had the heroes to take fights in the mid-game, their lineup just didn’t scale as well as Mineski’s who walked away with a win.

The win is sure to boost the confidence of a struggling Mineski side, who are yet to qualify for a DPC event this season.
