Airtel set to host Indian qualifiers for the PVP Esports Championship 2018

Airtel, the biggest telecommunication company in India has teamed up with Nodwin Gaming to host the Indian qualifiers for Singtel’s tournament with a $300,000 prizepool: PVP eSports Championship 2018.

This is a monumental moment for Indian esports as this is the first time a telecom company of Airtel’s caliber has recognized and offered support for esports. “Youth in India, much like their counterparts across the world, are seeking new avenues of entertainment and e-sports as a category is seeing great response from gaming enthusiasts in India. said Sameer Batra, CEO-Content & Apps, Bharti Airtel. “It gives us great pleasure to bring PVP eSports Championship 2018 to India that will offer e-sports gamers a platform to compete with their experienced counterparts at a global level.”

The PVP eSports championships has a prizepool of $300,000 and will feature national teams from several APAC countries (Australia, Singapore, Philippines, India, Thailand, and Malaysia) in three games: Dota 2, Hearthstone, and Arena of Valor. But the Indian qualifiers will only feature Dota 2 and Arena of Valor.

 


 

Schedule

 

  • Registrations will be open up until 30th August 2018.
 
  • Indian qualifiers will kick start on 31st August
 
  • The Main Event of the tournament will be held in Singapore from the October 2nd
