Vignesh RaghuramPublished On:

In a bid to support the grassroots ecosystem of Dota 2, DreamHack is all set to host weekly tournaments throughout August and September, with a total prize pool of €9,000.

16 qualifiers (with a prize pool of €250 each) spanning across the best part of two months will take place online, with the winners of each of the qualifiers fighting in two monthly finals in August and September with a prize pool of €600 each.

The Grand Finals of this series will take place on 29th September 2019 and will feature a €2000 prize kitty. 8 teams will compete in the grand finals:

  • 2x Monthly winners

  • 2x Monthly runner-ups

  • 2x Highest rank from Aug/Sep (That are not monthly winners or runner-ups)

  • 2x Open Qualifiers (Scheduled on 28th September 2019)

There are also plenty of other monetary rewards accompanying this tournament. Side tournaments (with a prize pool of €50 each) will be held alongside the main qualifiers. So you can take part in that tournament if you get eliminated early in the event.

Additionally, DreamHack will also host a “€100 Midweek Madness tournament, and a 1v1 €50 tournament every Wednesday.

You can register yourself for this event for free by visiting the official DreamHack Weekly Website.

It is pleasing to see third-party Tournament organizers taking an interest and investing in the Grassroots levels of Dota 2 and try to improve the scene. A better Tier 2-3 scene will make the Dota 2 scene better in the long run.
