Marcos Gaming becomes the first team from India to qualify for the Pokemon Unite Asia Champions League 2023

The Pokemon Unite Asia Champions League 2023: India League is just one one week away from coming to an end. However, out of the two teams that will be making their way through to the international tournament, Marcos Gaming has already cemented a slot for itself.

Marcos Gaming will be making its way to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, as the first representatives from India, where the final stage of the international tournament is due to take place from 18th to 19th March.

In the Regular Season: Stage 1, a simple round-robin group stage format was followed where the five qualified teams took on each other in best-of-five series across several weeks.

Marcos Gaming on the back of some powerful performances managed to beat all the other teams - Team S8UL, True Rippers Esports, Gods Reign, and Revenant Esports.

As a result of this '4-0' achievement, the team directly qualified for the Grand Final stage which is part of the Regular Season: Playoffs, automatically booking a spot for itself in the Pokemon Unite Asia Champions League 2023.

This is because the top two teams from the India League will be flying down to Kuala Lumpur. Marcos Gaming has already made it to the Grand Finale and a win or loss does not affect the qualifying factor for the Indian organization.

Celebrating this achievement, Volc - Pokemon Unite player for Marcos Gaming, said "We are excited to represent India at the Asia Champions League in Malaysia. After the Pokémon UNITE India Open 2022, we had to improvise our strategy and incorporate a draft we were more comfortable running. We are working hard and are looking forward to competing amongst the top teams in Asia.”

The second India slot for the Pokemon Unite Asia Champions League 2023 is still up for grabs and the winner of the semifinal match between Team S8UL and Revenant Esports will qualify for the international tournament.
