VCT 2023 LOCK//IN São Paulo will be the first international Valorant tournament of 2023.
The tournament will take place in an indoor stadium with 32 participants, including 30 franchise teams and two direct invites from China.
The total prize pool for the tournament is $500,000 USD which will be split between all teams based on their final placement.

The first international Valorant tournament of the season, VCT 2023 LOCK//IN São Paulo, is set to take place on LAN between 32 directly invited teams and is most certainly going to deliver some adrenaline-pumping action.

Taking place from 13th February to 4th March, the tournament features a total prize pool of $500,000 USD (INR 4,12,79,250) which will be split between all the competing teams based on their overall placement.

Due to a single-elimination bracket being deployed for the tournament, the competition is going to be intense as it leaves no margin for error and makes every single match a high stakes face-off.

Here is everything you need to know about the VCT 2023 LOCK//IN São Paulo which will be held at the Ginásio do Ibirapuera, an indoor sporting arena located in the heart of São Paulo, Brazil with a capacity of 11,000 people.

Participating Teams

A total of 32 teams will be competing in this tournament, 30 franchised teams and two direct invites from China. All participants have been divided into two groups of 16 teams each.

Format

  • The 32 participants have been divided into two groups of 16 teams each, Alpha and Omega.

  • Both groups will be following a single-elimination format, with the winners moving on to face each other in the Grand Final.

  • Every match will be a best-of-three series up until the Quarterfinals, after which each match will be a best-of-five series.

Prize Pool

The total prize pool of this tournament is $500,000 USD which will be divided between all the 32 competing teams based on their overall placement.

Apart from this, all the franchise teams will also be paid 50% of the net proceeds that Riot Games earns from the VCT 2023 LOCK//IN Capsule Collection.

Also worht noting, the winning team will be granting its region an extra slot at the VCT Masters Tokyo 2023.
