Highlights
North American team Sentinels was almost knocked to the elimination bracket by FURIA, who put on a solid performance at Champions Day 2.
It took three grueling matches for Sentinels to edge past its opposition and head to the next round.
FURIA will need to win its next game to stay in the competition and potentially have a rematch later in the event.

Day Two of Valorant Champions has come to a close and North American team Sentinels survived a scare against impressive plays from Brazilian team FURIA. It was the opening match for Group B and fans expected Sentinels to roll through FURIA but it was far from what was actually anticipated. Both teams had to go through a three-map series and Valorant fans were left with what was arguably the most entertaining matchup so far at Valorant Champions.

Valorant Champions Day 2 Recap: Sentinels vs FURIA (Sentinels won 2-1)

Map 1 - Ascent (Sentinels won 13-9)

The match had an explosive start with FURIA taking a 5-0 lead which had Sentinels fans spooked. Sentinels managed to get a grip on the Brazilian opposition’s aggressive gameplay and ended the first half 6-6. Tyson "TenZ" Ngo helped Sentinels recuperate from the early rounds and the North American side ended the game 13-9.

Map 2 - Breeze (FURIA won 13-10)

FURIA turned up the heat and beat Sentinels 13-10 in the second match of the series. The Brazilian team has shown promise in all of its regional events and it was the first time that it proved itself to such a large audience on the international stage. FURIA might be one of the sleeper teams that might become a force to be reckoned with if it keeps up the performance from last night in future games.

Map 3 - Haven (Sentinels won 13-9)

It came down to the third and final game of the night with Sentinels’ TenZ completing the series securing a total of 65 kills across three maps. Sentinels may have won last night’s matchup but it was FURIA that stole the show with its impressive performance.
