After a number of delays, Epic Games has released Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 3 for PC, Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and smartphones on 17th June. The patch brings changes to the map, new weapons, items and more. Epic released a trailer to show off the new season.
The latest update continues the story in Monday's Midas and his Doomsday contraption event during which waves put large parts of the map underwater. Players are faced with a new challenge, how to survive in the water world. The new changes to the map also include tides, which will cause the water to recede through the season, giving players access to more locations. Water also brings with it the dangers of Sharks. You can fight these Loot Sharks for some juicy drops or use a fishing rod to ride them around. There are also certain whirlpools in the water allow you to gain air.
There is also the addition of Marauder NPCs, henchmen for locations across the map. They will be looking to take out players. If you down them, they’ll drop some good loot. You also have access to the new Charge Shotgun which shoots explosive rounds and the Vault adding 5 items back in the game and removing Pump Shotgun from the game at least for a little while.
The Season 3 Battle Pass launches with this update and has some great new aquatic-themed skins, gliders and more. Players can purchase the Pass for 950 V-Bucks or splurge on the 2800 V-Bucks and get the first 25 Tiers immediately.
