Nigma Galaxy continues to falter in the Western Europe (WEU) Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) 2021-22 Tour 2: Division 1 as it has now suffered its third consecutive series defeat. This loss has come against Brame, where Nigma was the favorite to win. Nigma failed to deliver in both its draft and execution of game one, but showed signs of life in the early stages of the second game before Brame snatched it back with splendid spellcasting and game judgment. As a result of this win, Brame has broken the shackles of three consecutive series losses in the ongoing Tour 2.

Nigma Galaxy vs Brame: Match Recap and Highlights

Recap

In game 1, Nigma selected some unusual heroes for its team: Snapfire for its mid, and Huskar as its carry. Dazzle, an out of meta hero, also served as one of its two supports. While these heroes characteristically performed well in the laning phase, they fell off dramatically in the mid game. A single teamfight loss by Nigma at 17 minutes gave Brame a massive lead, and after this teamfight Nigma kept losing heroes and incurred a defeat in 26 minutes.

In game 2, Nigma went for its classic aggressive strategy with a mid Lina, a carry Luna, and an offlane Bloodseeker. In the early stages, the team did well with both cores topping the networth chart. The first Roshan was an important objective for Nigma and taking it would give it command over the map, but a stunning Aegis Steal by SsaSpartan turned everything upside down. In the aftermath of this Aegis steal, Brame clashed with Nigma and won the teamfight, shifting all momentum in its favor. Nigma continued to play aggressively but Brame fought head-on to secure the victory in 32 minutes.

Highlights

Here are some highlights of the series.

Courtesy of its excellence in multiple departments of the game, Brame notched a big win today over Nigma. After losing the first three games, it also displayed a renewed strategy in drafting to enter both the games evenly matched. A win like this will give Brame confidence; it will now try to bag more wins and not only keep its Division 1 slot but also aim for one of the four Major spots.

With the way Nigma has been playing, its chances of winning the Major look dim at the moment. After its exemplary performance at the Gamers Galaxy 2022 last month, the team hasn't been able to maintain that level thus far in Tour 2. Nigma's recent success has largely come from being able to run over opponents with a combination of certain heroes, and when the strategy fails, the team has often looked quite inferior to its rivals.

The next series for Nigma takes place on 3rd April against Gladiators, while Brame will take on Team Secret on 5th April.
