Chinese Dota 2 Roster Shuffle Rumours

Published On:

It looks like a big roster shuffle is coming to the Chinese Dota 2 scene in the near future. Recent information revealed by Chinese Dota 2 pro players (including Maybe, Ame, xiao8 and Burning) in their respective streams indicates that this will be one of the biggest ones in recent years.

Reddit user /u/yjygwzs managed to compile these into a list and posted it for the Western audience.

Chinese Dota 2 Roster Shuffle Rumours

According to the many Chinese Dota 2 streamers, several of the contracts that Chinese pros signed will come to a close in August 2020 (when the International 2020 was scheduled to take place, before it was postponed indefinitely). Hence these players will be free to move to different teams.

Here are some of the statements made by Chinese Pro Players.

PSG.LGD offlaner, old eLeVeN:

“My contract is still under Ehome. I will probably go back to Ehome next season. Maybe you will see PSG.LGD.Yang in a month.”

Burning:

“I heard a new dream team will be formed, better than current LGD, by a new investor in Dota 2.”

This Chinese Dota 2 investor is likely the rumored 4 Angry Men organization that has reportedly signed Fy and Maybe.

ViCi Gaming Coach, rOtK:

“A big shuffle is definitely coming. Ame may go back to LGD, some current LGD members may leave.”

This is also consistent with past reports about Chinese Dota 2 roster shuffle.

PSG.LGD midlaner, Maybe:

  • Lots of free agents this year, so it will be much easier to form a good team.
  • Players still under contract with LGD are Ame, Chalice and Xnova.
  • Yang's contract with VG will expire. I am not sure about Paparazzi. The rest are still under contract with VG.

Inflame and Sccc:

In his stream, Inflame reportedly asked Sccc: "You won't reject LGD, will you?" to which Sccc replied that he will go home and play mud (means do nothing).

However, Sccc has reportedly followed LGD Gaming's boss on Chinese Social Media website, Weibo recently.

CDEC Carry, Ame:

The former LGD carry stated that there will be a brand new ViCi Gaming lineup next season.

It will be interesting to see whether these rumors come true in the upcoming days. Considering the fact that many of these Chinese teams are likely scheduled to compete in the ESL One Thailand 2020, which kicks off on August 20th, we might be able to find out sooner rather than later.
