Raven Parts Ways With Geek Fam

Geek Fam announced Raven’s departure from the team with a heartfelt Twittlonger post which reads:

“Today, we say goodbye to a friend, a fam.

In the past 16 months that we have been together, we have had ups and downs. From not qualifying to TI9 in the previous season, then qualifying to consecutive Minors, to then going 9-1 to qualify for ESL One LA Majors (which did not happen… -_-), and most recently, winning 2 SEA Championship in a row, BTS Pro Series 2: Southeast Asia and One Esports Dota 2 SEA League. That’s a heck of a journey, my friend.

He has given us a lot of joy throughout the time that he has been part of Geek Fam and definitely leaves us on a high.

We would like to thank Marc Polo Luis "Raven" Fausto for his efforts with Geek Fam. We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.

Your home will always be here. Once A Geek, Always A Fam!”

Raven has been a part of Geek Fam since May 2019. In this period, Geek Fam has won over $181,500 in prize winnings. He has played a crucial role in the team and is considered to be one of the finest players in the carry role in SEA.

One of Raven’s oldest friends, his teammate in Geek Fam, Kuku also posted that he was disappointed by Raven’s departure from the team.

Geek Fam also posted an interview in which Raven talked about his time in the team. Raven also talked about Kuku saying:

“I think he has grown as a captain. He has got more ideas now, not just drafting but inside the game as well like how we play. Before, when he was the captain he just used to pick, he just liked to be the captain in the drafting stage. But now, he understands the game. He talks to us about how he want to play the game and that we should do this, practice this hero. He understands me and how and how I play…”

Speculation on Raven’s Future

Earlier yesterday, our sources indicated that Raven is joining Fnatic by replacing their Thai carry Nuengnara "23savage" Teeramahanon. With today’s new roster change, it looks like that this will be the most likely scenario.

The fact that he has left Geek Fam after a fairly successful run also leads credence to the fact that a better roster has approached to sign him as their carry. Fnatic is one of the only lineups that fits these criteria.

What do you think about this roster change? If Raven ends up joining Fnatic, will they become the best team in SEA once again? Let us know in the comments below.
