A total of 16 teams will be competing in the IEM Dallas 2022 which features a total prize pool of $250,000 USD.

The IEM Dallas 2022 is all set to take place from 30th May to 5th June, featuring a total prize pool of $250,000 USD (INR 1,94,11,475) with 16 CS:GO teams set to compete in this top-tier North American tournament.

It will be taking place on LAN at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas which has a capacity to house about 9,500 spectators in the Convention Center Arena.

The teams participating in this tournament have been shortlisted through various methods which include, six teams getting a slot due to 'ESL Partner Team' status, four teams obtaining a chance due to 'ESL World Ranking', and the remaining six teams making their way through various regional qualifiers.

Just a week after the PGL Antwerp Major 2022, 16 teams from around the world will be gathering in Dallas for the next big tournament. This will be the first big CS:GO tournament taking place in North America since Esports Championship Series Season 8 in November 2019, considering that Flashpoint Season 1 had shifted online after one week.

Teams

Out of the 16 teams competing in this tournament, six teams got a slot due to 'ESL Partner Team' status, four teams obtained a chance due to 'ESL World Ranking', and the remaining six teams made their way through various regional qualifiers.

However, due to CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) teams NAVI and Entropiq facing visa issues, they were replaced by BIG and Movistar Riders respectively, at the very last minute.

Format

IEM Dallas 2022 has been divided into two stages, group stage followed by the playoffs. Here is how they both will be played out,

  • The group stage of the tournament will witness all the 16 teams being divided into two groups of eight teams each. Both these groups will be following a double-elimination bracket where the opening matches are a single game series while the remaining matches are BO3.

  • The group stage winners will advance to the semifinals, the runners-up will claim the high seed of the quarterfinals, and the third-placed team will acquire the low seed of the quarterfinals.

  • The six teams that advance to the playoffs will faceoff in a single-elimination bracket, where all matches will be a BO3 series except for the grand finals which will feature a BO5 series.
