The Official BGMI Esports Calendar Has Some Strange Names in it

Battlegrounds Mobile India’s official website has an esports section with a calendar feature that highlights current and upcoming events. Users can also register and submit their own third party events onto the calendar including scrims or custom lobbies. As first reported by Extra 0rdinnary on YouTube, the calendar page on the official BGMI esports website has some odd and inappropriate event names listed there. Among other strange names, we spotted an event named to promote an individual's YouTube channel.

Inappropriate event names in the official BGMI calendar page

While the majority of the calendar is filled with somewhat normal scrims and practice event names, there are outliers that submitted unusual and inappropriate event names on the calendar of BGMI’s official website. Some of the unusual names that you can find on the BGMI event calendar are “GTX Armaan Ko Subscribe Karo” (Subscribe to GTX Armaan) on 13th Aug 2021, “Johny Ka Custom” (Johny’s Custom) which is also on 13th August, and “OP Betal BGMI Tournament for Underdogs” which has been scheduled for 30th Aug 2021.

With how these names are present in the calendar, it seems like the BGMI event registration process needs a stricter moderation process. People may be encouraged to make inappropriate event names as seen above. The name “GTX Armaan Ko Subscribe Karo”, especially, is a straight up personal advertisement a person made of themselves in the official website.
