Valdus Esports (formerly known as “It's okay to take the first step. Twenty-eight steps.” or 9199218) has been disqualified from the ESL Mobile Open 2021 Fall: Thailand, a regional esports circuit for the League of Legends: Wild Rift Southeast Asia (SEA) Icon Series 2021: Fall Season, due to a violation of account sharing during the qualifiers. The team violated rule “8.1.1.6 Ringing” where it states that players using other player’s accounts or soliciting, inducing, encouraging, or directing someone else to play under another player’s account will receive penalties and will be disqualified from participating in ESL Mobile Open 2021 Fall: Thailand. More information about the suspension of the Thai team Valdus Esports from the ESL Mobile Open 2021 Fall: Thailand can be found below.

After Valdus Esports (widely known as 9199218) secured 9th place in the final rankings of the ESL Mobile Open 2021 Fall: Thailand group stage, the team received a massive penalty from Riot Games for violating the tournament rules.

According to ESL Thailand, a detailed examination revealed that one of Valdus Esports’ pro players, Panawit “Int#GOAT” Isarakamonpat, was found guilty of account sharing and will receive a 3-month ban from all official Riot Games esports events, effective from 30th July 2021. The rest of the players are still under investigation and an announcement about their fates will be made soon. The team will now retire from the ESL Mobile Open 2021 Fall: Thailand and will be replaced by a new team.

The team who will replace Valdus Esports’ slot in the tournament will be settled through a BO5 match between Clutch Gamer and Ham&Hed. The announcement will be posted after the match concludes.

According to the rulebook of the Wild Rift SEA Icon Series 2021: Fall Season, account sharing is a violation under rule 8.1.1.1.6. Playing under another player’s account or soliciting, inducing, encouraging, or directing someone else to play under another player’s account is subject to penalties that vary depending on how severe the violation is.

This isn’t the first time, a Wild Rift team has been suspended for violating Riot Game’s rules in recent months. Earlier this month, Philippine esports organization, Amihan Esports, received a 12-month ban for submitting forged documents that misrepresented the actual age of one of its players Karl “AMI Karlll” Ken Butista.
