The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Indonesia (ID) Season 9 has officially concluded with RRQ Hoshi taking the championship title. Through a grueling BO7 series that ended in just five games, RRQ Hoshi was able to secure four wins while ONIC Esports only managed to score one win. The grand finals match was a highly anticipated rematch between the two finalists to settle their feud from the last season. With the conclusion of the MPL ID Season 9, the crowned champion RRQ Hoshi and runner-up ONIC Esports will be representing Indonesia in the upcoming Mobile Legends Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) 2022.

RRQ Hoshi exacts revenge on ONIC Esports in the MPL ID Season 9 grand finals

After losing its championship run in Season 8 against its rival, ONIC Esports, RRQ Hoshi made a lot of preparations for its fated rematch. The team announced Rivaldi “7” Fatah as the new team captain with Petra "Fiel" Giovanni as the new head coach.

The team showed dominance since the regular season, as it topped the leaderboard with 12 wins and two losses, and also secured its upper bracket slot. RRQ Hoshi even dropped ONIC Esports down to the lower bracket final after a 3-2 victory. However, ONIC Esports stood firm and defeated AURA Fire to reach the grand finals.

ONIC Esports was able to turn the tides in game two thanks to Nicky "Kiboy" Fernando’s impressive Selena gameplay. However, RRQ Hoshi was able to reverse the odds in its favor and went on to a three-game win streak to secure the championship title.

After having secured its fourth MPL ID championship title, RRQ Hoshi shall now face a new challenge alongside ONIC PH. Both teams will be competing against the top-performing Southeast Asia (SEA) teams in the MSC 2022. The upcoming tournament will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 11th June.
