The grueling match between ONIC Esports and RRQ Hoshi in the MPL ID Season 8

The grand finals were not a smooth ride for either finalist. ONIC Esports opened up the matches with an impressive two-win streak. However, RRQ Hoshi managed to turn the tide in the third match thanks to Albert "Alberttt" Neilsen Iskandar’s Karina with a KDA of 10-2-4 at the end of the third match.

However, ONIC Esports retaliated in the fourth game, only losing one turret before successfully closing the match at the 18-minute mark. RRQ Hoshi tried its best to make a comeback but it was to no avail.

Despite this, RRQ Hoshi did not lose hope and kept its momentum going, claiming two more wins which balanced the scoreboard to a 3-3 match score. This opened up the fourth and final deciding match for the Grand Finals.

The stakes were high for both teams in the deciding match. However, ONIC Esports got the upper hand, claiming four kills at the 2-minute mark which gave them a huge advantage. RRQ Hoshi was able to even the odds at the 4-minute mark. However, ONIC Esports, led by Gilang "Sanz" got another huge lead after a crucial teamfight that killed three of RRQ Hoshi’s members. ONIC Esports immediately closed the game, securing its championship title for the MPL ID Season 8.

Onic Esports took the trophy as the MPL ID Season 8 Champions.

With ONIC Esports securing the championship title and booking its ticket to the upcoming M3 World Championship, RRQ Hoshi will settle for a runner-up finish and will shift its focus to another challenge - the MPL Invitational 2021.
