MLBB, Wild Rift, AoV & Pokemon UNITE Nominated for Esports Mobile Game of the Year 2022
The Esports Awards 2022 announced the nominations for The Esports Mobile Game of the Year featuring popular mobile MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) titles such as Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), League of Legends: Wild Rift, Arena of Valor (AoV), and Pokemon UNITE. A total of eight nominations have been revealed under the category and the other titles nominated include three battle royale titles and one hero shooter title. MLBB and AoV have been competing in this category since the previous iterations of the Esports Awards. However, Garena’s popular battle royale title Free Fire has topped the charts and won the Esports Mobile Game of the Year twice in a row.
Four mobile MOBA titles nominated for Esports Mobile Game of the Year
Mobile MOBA is one of the biggest genres of esports events in the world. It is steadily becoming a strong entity in terms of esports viewership with MLBB leading the race. The previously concluded MLBB tournaments like the MPL ID Season 9, MLBB Southeast Asia Cup 2022, and the 31st Southeast Asian Games MLBB are the top 3 most watched esports tournaments so far, for the year of 2022, surpassing some of the biggest PC sports events such as the League of Legends Mid Season Invitational 2022 and the PGL Major Antwerp 2022.
For this year’s Esports Awards 2022, four Mobile MOBA titles have been nominated for the Esports Mobile Game of the Year award. This was revealed through a Twitter post along with the four other nominees.

For two consecutive years, Free Fire has topped the votes and has won the title of the Esports Mobile Game of the Year. However, with the recent rise in popularity of mobile MOBA titles, Free Fire shall have tough competition.
