Krafton has announced the first competitive Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) tournament called 'The Launch Party'. This mobile Battle Royale event is scheduled to take place from 8th to 9th July, featuring a total prize pool of INR 6,00,000 ($8,042 USD) which will be divided between the 18 directly invited teams. The tournament will be exclusively livestreamed across both Battlegrounds Mobile India's official Facebook and YouTube channels. These are the first steps taken by the developers towards creating BGMI's competitive circuit within the country, something which Tanmay "Scout" Singh had spoken about in one of his YouTube streams.

First BGMI Tournament - The Launch Party

The invite-only tournament is all set to take place over the course of the upcoming weekend, 8th and 9th July. Being the first official Battlegrounds Mobile India tournament announced by Krafton, this is going to turn a lot of heads and could possibly attract a significantly large viewership, especially due to the involvement of some of the biggest livestreamers and content creators from across the country.

In an earlier conversation with his viewers on his livestream, Scout spoke about this tournament stating:

As per the rumours that have been going around, the first two events (BGMI) are going to be like 'Streamer Battles' and 'Community Cup' type of tournaments. According to me, the first one is going to be an invitational for streamers, the second is going to be an invitational for teams, and then the qualifiers will start.

The speculation seems to have turned true with Krafton announcing The Launch Party for Battlegrounds Mobile India. Could this mean that the next tournament from Krafton would also be an invitational event, but this time aimed towards teams instead of streamers and content creators?
