The North American (NA) esports organization Immortals revamped its team due to visa issues with some of its players ahead of the Wild Rift Icons Global Championship 2022. The team opted to sign two stand-ins as replacements for Hamza "IraqiZorro" Najim and Jang "Hoon" Du-hoon. The Chinese representative teams for the upcoming Wild Rift Icons Global Championship 2022 were also forced to make roster changes in order to participate in the event, and in fact, one team had to forfeit its slot.

According to a Twitter post from Immortal’s Baron Laner IraqiZorro, the team will be heading to Singapore to compete in the upcoming world series event with two stand-ins.

“Unfortunately, myself and @GosuHoonj won’t be joining due to visa and other travel complications,” captioned IraqiZorro.

The two stand-ins are Cloud9’s Wild Rift pro player Donovan "Zelo" Man and former Tribe Gaming pro player Joshrick "Starting" Ainsley Narag. Immortal’s main players Seungchan "Lebmont" Won, Gichan "Gume" Won, Ethan "Charm" Lin will be competing in the upcoming world series event alongside the two stand-ins.

The NA Wild Rift representative wasn’t the only team that was forced to revamp its roster due to traveling issues. The Chinese teams also found themselves in the same predicament compelling them to revamp their rosters. Oh My God (OMG) decided to forfeit its slot in the Wild Rift Icons Global Championship 2022, allowing Wild Rift League (WRL) 2022 Season 1 third placer - J Team to compete in its place. FunPlus Phoenix is the only Chinese representative team that shall be competing without any roster revamps.

The Wild Rift Icons Global Championship 2022 will kick off with the play-ins stage on 14th June. The tournament will feature the top 24 teams from around the world competing for the lion’s share of the $2 Million USD prize pool and the opportunity to become the first ever Wild Rift world champions.
