The MPL SG Season 2 has finally concluded with the defending champion EVOS SG retaining its title as the back-to-back champion. The grand finals match was smooth sailing for the reigning champion with a final match score of 4-1.

In the first game, RSG SG showed their hunger for revenge and secured the first win thanks to Jovan “babycakes” Ong Jin Heng’s Paquito. However, EVOS SG turned the tide as it secured four consecutive wins and closed the game.

The defending champions comprise of the following pro players:

  • Andrew “Potato” Lim

  • Akihiro “JPL” Furusawa

  • Chong “Adammir” Jin Ee Adam

  • Tristan “Gear” Christopher Nathanael

  • Basil “Seilah” Lim Dao Ze

  • Roy “Smokey” Chua Wei Heng

  • Daryl “Youngin” Ng Jun Da (Coach)

  • Chong “Soul” Ru Chyi (Manager)

Adammir was announced as the match MVP. His excellent roaming capabilities allowed EVOS SG to focus on objectives alongside suppressing RSG SG, preventing them from gaining any advantage.

EVOS SG successfully defended its championship title while RSG SG settled for a runner-up finish. Both teams will be heading to the M3 World Championship as representatives for the Singapore region.

The M3 World Championship is expected to kick off in December 2021 and will feature the top teams from all MPL regions as well as the champions from other regional qualifiers. The tournament boasts a massive prize pool of $800,000 USD, more than twice the size of the previous prize pool.

It will be interesting to see how EVOS SG and RSG SG perform against the top teams from different regions in the upcoming M3 World Championship.
