ECHO's roamer Yawi shares excitement upon beating Blacklist International.
Since MPL PH Season 6, Yawi's goal was to beat Blacklist International as he and his team only won once after the three seasons.
While Blacklist International suffered its fourth loss this season, ECHO continues its winning streak in the MPL PH Season 9.

ECHO’s roamer, Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera, shared his lifelong goal of beating Blacklist International in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines (PH) Season 9. Since his debut back in Season 6 under Nexplay Solid, Yawi suffered losses against Blacklist International and was motivated to someday defeat the M3 World Champions. ECHO’s super team took down the defending champions through a 2-0 sweep to achieve its fourth win in the MPL PH Season 9 regular season. While Blacklist International suffered its fourth loss in the season, ECHO continues its winning streak heading into the third week of the MPL season which is scheduled to be held offline.

ECHO’s Yawi celebrates victory over Blacklist International

The super team’s dominance continues after taking down the defending champion in the second week of the MPL PH Season 9. This victory is celebrated by ECHO fans and pro players, especially the team’s roamer specialist, Yawi. The pro player, during the post-match interview, said he has been working hard to achieve a victory against Blacklist International ever since he was still under Nexplay Solid (now known as Nexplay EVOS).

“For me, my goal these last three seasons is to recoup after losing multiple times against them,” said Yawi. “That’s why I want to defeat them.”

Since Yawi debuted under Nexplay Solid, he only managed to win against Blacklist International, once. This was back in the MPL PH Season 6 where Nexplay won against Blacklist International through a gruelling 2-1 victory. After that hard-earned win, Yawi and his team went on to lose six times against Blacklist International, until he joined ECHO’s superstar lineup.

Yawi played Jawhead during the first match and this was was instrumental in ECHO’s success as it allowed his team to turn the tide against Blacklist International and secure a victory. The second match saw Yawi using Kadita which was supported by Jankurt "KurtTzy" Russel Matira’s Johnson. This strategy caught Blacklist International off guard, and Nexplay EVOS ended the series with a 2-0 sweep.

ECHO scored 20 kills against Blacklist International.

ECHO is currently at the top of the leaderboards with four wins and zero losses. The team is looking to keep its momentum going as it heads into the third week of the MPL PH Season 9. ECHO shall face off against RSG PH on 5th Mar. RSG PH is also undefeated so far.
