The coaches of ECHO and ONIC PH shared their opinions regarding the Sibol National team's odds of winning a gold medal at the 31st SEA Games.
Coach Arcadia is confident that OhMyV33nus and Wise are still at the peak of their performance despite taking a break from the MPL PH Season 9.
Coach Yeb stated that in terms of the participating players, Indonesia may have the upper hand.

The hot takes from Nexplay EVOS’s coach Setsuna "Dogie" Ignacio regarding the Sibol team’s odds of winning at the 31st Southeast Asian (SEA) Games caused quite a ruckus in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang community. Following this, the coaches of the Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL) Philippines (PH) teams, Michael Angelo “Arcadia” Bocado from ECHO, and Denver “Yeb” Miranda from ONIC PH also gave their estimation with a much more detailed explanation to support it. The coaches think Dogie's estimates were a little too low. Blacklist International’s iconic duo Johnmar “OhMyV33nus” Villaluna and Danerie “Wise” Del Rosario also received praise from the coaches.

Sibol National Team has a 60-70 percent chance to win the gold medal, according to ECHO’s coach

Through a video posted by Spin.PH, Arcadia and Yeb discussed Blacklist International’s Sibol lineup and how they may fare against other teams in the upcoming 31st SEA Games.

Fans have witnessed how dominant the main squad of Blacklist International was during the MPL PH Season 7, 8, and the M3 World Championship. However, ECHO’s coach Arcadia shared his own observation regarding the team’s performance.

“To be honest, it’s a bit hard to say,” said Arcadia. “Because we couldn’t see Blacklist International’s SEA Games lineup more often.”

Despite this, the coach remained confident that the dynamic duo of OhMyV33nus and Wise (also known as the V33Wise duo) are still at the peak of their performance despite taking a break from the MPL PH Season 9.

“Of course, they’re still V33Wise… They’re so good when it comes to macro plays. If I’m not mistaken, I think their toughest enemy would be the Indo[nesian] SEA Games team,” added the ECHO coach.

Coach Arcadia also called out Dogie’s prediction of the Sibol National Team only having a 10 percent chance of winning the gold medal.

“I think, 10 percent is way too low. Maybe, for me, 60 percent… 70 percent chance [they] would win,” said Arcadia. “I can’t raise it nor lower it.”

ONIC PH’s coach Yeb echoed Arcadia's statements saying that he will support Blacklist International's Sibol lineup all the way.

“For me, I didn’t mind [Dogie’s statements] because I know he’s a content creator,” said Yeb. “But if he’s being serious about that, I’m patriotic. Even if Nexplay [EVOS] were the ones to fight in the SEA Games, we support PH 100 percent.”

The coach added that in terms of the participating players, Indonesia may have the upper hand. However, it will all boil down to how these players synergize with each other.

“If we look at the players, Indo has a bit of an advantage. But I know Blacklist [International], they play differently, they don’t play individually, they do play as a team,” said Yeb. “Even if they have a new member, I think it wouldn’t affect them much.”

Blacklist International lost its playoffs dream after finishing 7th place in the MPL PH Season 9 regular season. However, the team will now set its sights on the upcoming 31st SEA Games which will be held on 12th May.

ECHO and ONIC PH on the other hand will have their own battle to face in the MPL PH Season 9 playoff stage which is scheduled to be held on 28th April.
