In a recent livestream, Hydra Esports’ Ronny “Danger” revealed that a New State Mobile tournament took place before the Snapdragon Pro Series (SPS) New State Mobile Open India, where Hydra Esports was invited to play.
As it was an online tournament and Hydra Esports’ players did not want to play New State Mobile, they declined the invite.
Danger added that the same teams were invited to both tournaments. Since Hydra Esports declined the first invitation, they were not invited to the SPS New State Mobile Open India.

ESL India and NODWIN Gaming held the SPS New State Mobile Open India tournament on January 29th, 2023. The tournament had 16 invited teams, but Hydra Esports was not among them. Hydra Esports’ popular content creator Danger (aka Ronny) recently explained this by revealing that the organization had declined an invitation to participate in a previous New State Mobile event (which was not a LAN event) and as a result, did not get a slot in the SPS New State Mobile Open India (which was a LAN event). The same teams that participated in the previous event were offered slots in the SPS tournament, according to the pro-player.

Hydra Esports missed out on SPS New State Mobile Open India due to canceled slot in previous event

ESL India and NODWIN Gaming concluded the SPS New State Mobile Open India on 29th January 2023. In the mobile challenge stage of the tournament, 16 invited teams fought against 16 qualified teams to advance to the further stage of the tournament. Most of the prominent Indian esports organizations were a part of the tournament. However, Hydra Esports was surprisingly not amongst the directly invited teams nor the qualified teams.

In a recent livestream, a viewer asked Danger why no one from Hydra Esports participated in the SPS New State Mobile Open India despite it being such a massive event. Responding to this, Danger stated that there was another New State Mobile event before SPS New State Mobile Open India. However, he did reveal the name of the event. He added that it was an online event and not a LAN event. “Our players, Jaxon and all, told us that they didn’t want to play New State Mobile, so they canceled the slot,” he added.

Danger stated that after the previous New State Mobile event, teams who participated in that event received slots in the SPS New State Mobile Open India LAN event. However, as they had canceled their slot in the previous event, they did not get a slot in the LAN event. “The teams that played in that event got slots in the LAN event. As we canceled the slot in the previous event, we did not get a slot in the LAN event. It was not like we did not play,” he said.

Danger explained that they canceled the slot in the first event because it wasn’t a LAN event, and they did not want to play in it. However, the SPS New State Mobile Open India turned out to be a LAN event, and as they canceled the slot in the first event, they were not offered a slot in the SPS New State Mobile Open India.
